Morzine

Morzine is a firm favourite, and the birthplace of TG Ski in 2004. The beautiful year-round town has all of the charms of a traditional Alpine town, combined with a fantastic ski area which is transformed into a winter wonderland in the snow.

The Lifts

The lifts in Morzine will be open continuously from Saturday 16th December 2023. Subject to snow conditions, early opening dates or weekends may be announced nearer to the time. Avoriaz lifts open from 15th December to 21st April 2024.

Lift dates are subject to snow conditions.

Super Morzine telecabine: Joins to another chair lift to access the resort of Avoriaz and the rest of the Portes du Soleil. There is a Petit Train operating every ten minutes to take you between the Super Morzine and Pleney lifts, just a short 5 minute journey.

Pleney telecabine: The cable car lift which operates from Morzine town centre. At the top, options to ski into Morzine, Les Gets and Nyon.

Prodains cable car: Linking directly into Avoriaz. From here, you can take various chairlifts to access the wider Portes du Soleil area.

The Skiing

The Portes du Soleil has been one of the biggest players in world skiing for the last 40 years, with 12 linked resorts either side of the French-Swiss border just an hour from Geneva: Abondance, Avoriaz, Chatel, La Chapelle d’Abondance, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine-Avoriaz, St Jean d’Aulps, Champery, Morgins, Torgon and Val-d’Illiez-Les Crozets-Champoussin. With such a huge choice of runs you can ski all week barely touching the same run twice.

The individual villages each offer their own nuances, which are well worth a visit, with fantastic and often quieter skiing to be found around Morgins and Les Crosets on the Swiss side – don’t worry you won’t need to take your passport. The TG Ski chalets are ideally located in the centre of Morzine to give you the best opportunity to enjoy this exciting ski area. Whether you are an absolute beginner looking for gentle nursery slopes or avid powder hound looking to find some steep pitches or tight tree runs there is something for everyone in the Portes du Soleil.

To make the most of the skiing, we would recommend the 6 day Portes du Soleil pass to compliment your stay with us. The Morzine - Les Gets area is fantastic for family skiing, catering well for beginners and intermediates with a few gems to challenge the experts. For those who want to cover more ground and challenge themselves further, as well as venturing to Switzerland; the Portes du Soleil pass is a must. All of our team love their snow sports, so if you are ever unsure; please just get in touch.
